This gallery contains environmental portraits of people in India, Nepal and the Tibetan Settlements within India.
These images were taken during multiple trips to the region between 2002-2007.
When looking back I find it interesting that I really didn't have a great interest in traveling to India. I was really only motivated by investigating the Tibetan Settlements to see what their culture was like outside of the control of the Chinese military. But as India does, it got under my skin by simultaneously frustrating the hell out of me one moment and then rewarding me with some of the most amazing experiences the next. Although I had been through over ten countries on that particular trip, I credit India with giving me my traveling legs. Funny to think about considering I now have a ten year visa and have been back five times. India is truly a different planet.
